Lemington Consulting Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Does Lemington Consulting provide potential clients with a free initial consultation?

Yes, we provide potential clients with a free initial consultation regarding their project and/or needs. We will give you our best assessment regarding the cost and timing of the project. While we believe we offer exceptional quality technology solutions for our clients, depending on a particular client's needs, there may be more suitable alternatives available to them. We are always upfront with our clients as to what we think is best for them, even if it means offering them an alternative that does not include our services.

What does Quality, Innovative I.T. Solutions mean to me as a client of Lemington Consulting?

Quality, Innovative I.T. Solutions means that our client's needs are our first and foremost priorty, that we build quality software solutions the first time, that use innovative methodologies to provide increased benefits to our clients, and that we provide exceptional customer service after the solution is deployed so that the solutions continues to provide value on a long-term basis. We have worked with many companies that have been left with poorly designed solutions, or solutions that are constantly breaking causing enormous costs in terms of lost productivity and even lost revenue. With a focus on high quality designs, we greatly reduce ongoing solution maintenance costs and allow our clients to focus on what it is that they do best, running their business.

The difference is significant. Don't assume that less expensive upfront equates to lower cost on a long-term basis. In most cases, the opposite turns out to be the reality. Lemington Consulting designs quality solutions for the long-term and our clients realize the benefits of this approach.

Can Lemington Consulting provide references from existing clients?

Yes, we have a number of clients who have volunteered to act as a reference on our behalf. These references are available upon request. Lemington Consulting receives a high level of repeat business from its clients, which we think speaks well of the quality of our work and our commitment to our clients.

What types of pricing arrangements are available from Lemington Consulting?

Lemington Consulting provides both fixed rate, project pricing as well as per-hour pricing arrangements for its clients. For work that has a very well-defined scope, Lemington Consulting can quote a fixed-rate, project price to provide the client with an "all inclusive" costing solution. For projects without a very well-defined scope, a per-hour pricing arrangement can be negotiated.

Our company policy is to not provide fixed-priced pricing (i.e. a quote) when enhancing existing software application for which Lemington Consulting was not the original software developer. Similarly, Lemington Consulting's company policy is to not provide a quote (i.e. a fixed, guaranteed cost) or an estimate on troubleshooting computer system issues. Troubleshooting is only done on a time and materials basis.

For ongoing work, our default terms are time and materials pricing, Net 30 terms, and monthly invoices. A fixed priced quote is supplied in writing before work begins with a singular dollar amount and without estimated hours, without an estimated cost range, and without an hourly rate. Lemington Consulting is willing to negotiate flexible alternative payment arrangements with its clients. These arrangements must be negotiated before work begins and must be documented in writing.

For custom software development projects, we generally require an upfront deposit due to the one-of-a-kind nature of the work.

Can Lemington Consulting provide financing for software, hardware, or service purchases?

Yes, Lemington Consulting can arrange the financing of software, hardware, and services purchases, or any combination of these. Lemington works with several financial services vendors to supply financing for those organizations that want to more closely match the costs of a purchase with the resulting benefits of the purchase. Will Lemington Consulting enter into a confidentiality agreement (NDA) with a client?

Lemington Consulting considers this an integral part of its customer service focus, and understands the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of its client engagements.
